German technology group Heraeus marked its 50th anniversary in China with its subsidiary Heraeus Electronics Technology (Suzhou) Co. (HETS) starting operations in the Changshu New & Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone (CNZ) in Jiangsu Province in east China on November 20, the company said in a press release.
HETS produces electronics materials for industries like electric vehicles and new energies.
Jan Rinnert, Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors and CEO of the Heraeus Group, said it was “a significant further expansion of our presence” and “another testament to our ‘in China, for China’ philosophy and our commitment to being close to our customers.”
HETS is Heraeus’s second enterprise in Changshu. It is capable of large-scale production of the new generation AMB substrates, which is expected to fill a domestic gap and accelerate the development of new information and energy technology industries in Suzhou and the Yangtze River Delta.
In December 2022, a Changshu trade and economic delegation visited the Heraeus global headquarters in Hanau, Germany, and signed a cooperation agreement. After nearly two years of preparation, HETS was established.
Heraeus plans a second phase project in CNZ focused on power electronics and advanced semiconductor packaging materials.
“At this new starting point, Heraeus aims to cultivate the China market, introduce advanced products and technologies, advance investment projects, intensify local innovation efforts, and contribute to China's economic development, ecological improvement, and people's well-being,” Ai Zhouping, President of Heraeus Greater China, said.
