In Jinghe County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, not only is the cultivation of cotton thriving, but also that of Chinese wolfberry. The bright red fruits are processed into over 40 health and food products, including concentrated juice, beer, fermented preparations, as well as capsules. Among the most well-known local brands are Guoshengkang, Jingqishen, and Qixingming.
The Chinese wolfberries from Jinghe are now designated as a "product with geographical indication" and a "product with mutual recognition between China and the EU." Known for their vibrant red color, sweet taste, exceptional nutritional content, and medicinal value, the plump berries from Jinghe have long made quite a reputation for themselves beyond their region.
