Primary school students affiliated with Kashgar No. 27 High School attended a unique introductory class at the Kashgar Science and Technology Museum, the westernmost science education base in China. With the assistance of Shenzhen City, the museum was completed in September 2023. By means of abundant exhibitions and interactions, students experience and interact with a world interwoven with sound, light, electricity, AI, and new materials, where they can not only experience and interact with cutting-edge technologies, but also feel the brand-new experience brought by new technologies and equipment.

Focusing on the needs of children's growth, the various exhibition halls adopt a variety of exhibitions and teaching methods based on gamification, exploration, and interactive participation, integrating scientific principles into amusement facilities to educate and entertain kids.

Students playfully discover the principles of mechanical control in the venue.

The museum, although less than one year old, has already carried out extensive cooperation with many primary and secondary schools in the city to create a classroom for hands-on practice, which has become a unique youth science education base in Kashgar.

A teacher leads children through a dazzling tunnel, where mesmerizing light and graphics create a magical three-dimensional space.

Students watch the standing wave through sound. Pink foamed plastic particles inside the device react in synchronization with the loudspeaker’s volume, vividly depicting the differences in sound texture between everyday spaces and large theaters.

Students easily identify the differences between direct current and alternating current, capacitance, and resistance through this circuit testbed.

In our perception, shadows all appear black or gray, but are there colorful ones? Here, through changes in the light, children intuitively understand the principle of the three primary colors of light.

Seated on the pulley gear, students play a game of “pulling themselves up.” This helps build understanding of force, weight, and mechanics.

"Disappearing Ringtones" illustrates the process of sound production and transmission.

A student seeks “treasures” by exploring the changes in the color through flashlight lighting.

Engaged students experience the cool effects created by the fusion of AI technology and videogame scenes.

By playing air hockey against a robot, students not only learn the rules of air hockey, but also feel the amazement brought about by human-computer interaction based on algorithms and computing power.

Wearing special glasses and sitting in a “space capsule,” a student travels to the lunar surface in an instant. The lunar rover, lunar landforms, lunar gravity, and weightlessness can all be virtually experienced through the capsule.

A student observes the model of a space station, under an autographed photo of Yang Liwei, China’s first astronaut in space, with the encouragement of whom, he may fly higher in the future.

Accompanied with a teacher's explanation, students learn about the operating mechanisms and application scenarios of turbofan engines. Various models highlight the strength of China’s aerospace capabilities.

Students practice cardiopulmonary resuscitation to gain knowledge of first aid.

Jigsaw puzzles allow students to learn and understand the principle of optical fiber transmission in operation, and help them gain a new appreciation of how the digital world is made possible.

The museum is not only a place to display scientific knowledge, but also a place for students to experience and explore the mysteries of science. Students can not only operate various experimental facilities and understand scientific principles, but also cultivate practical skills and innovative thinking. This vivid introductory class allows them to think on the spot and learn through hands-on activities. Through experiential research, this initiative helps lay a good foundation for better popularizing scientific and technological knowledge and promotes the spirit of science and discovery at the start of the new academic year.
