Inaugurated on May 23, 2013, the Wang Meng Library, named after a contemporary Chinese writer, is located at the Bayandai Village, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Free of charge for the public, the library has become a cultural center for local farmers, herders, and schoolchildren to gain knowledge, and also attracted many visitors and researchers from all over Xinjiang and the rest of the country.

It has engaged in various activities to promote reading, including reading salons, book sharing sessions, poetry readings, and calligraphy and painting exhibitions. Since last year, it has organized over 100 cultural events.
