Global green transition will gain new momentum as China and Europe join hands to push ahead with their green cooperation, Huang Yiyang, Chinese consul general in Frankfurt, made the remarks at the third Sino-European Corporate ESG Best Practice Conference held recently in Mainz, Germany.

Initiated in 2024, the ESG Conference is aimed at promoting Sino-European cooperation under the principles of ESG.

"In a world characterized by greater energy price volatility, mounting climate risks, increasingly sophisticated regulations, and rapid technological changes, the real question is not whether we continue to use the label 'ESG,' but how we can translate its principles into business practices that strengthen competitiveness and create lasting value," said Huang.

As more and more people have witnessed the successful commercialization of ESG in China, it is widely believed that the vitality of green industries is hinged on a mechanism in which companies are willing to invest, consumers are willing to buy and business models are capable of sustaining themselves in the marketplace, he added.

Huang noted that cooperation is important for both China and Europe who share the same vision of green transformation and can yield tangible results.

"I firmly believe that through our joint efforts, more innovative and sustainable engines of growth will emerge, our cooperation in sustainable development will continue to gain new vitality, and China and Europe together will inject fresh momentum into the global green transition," said Huang.
