Xinhua correspondent takes you to see how nucleic acid test is conducted at an integrated nucleic acid detection laboratory in Beijing. Compared with common laboratories, this one features integration, which means the three most important steps of the test, namely sample inactivation, nucleic acid extraction and purification, and nucleic acid amplification, could all be conducted here on the 54-square-meter floor space. Efficiency is a main strength of the lab, since it meets all requirements for the tests and reduces non-essential movement of staff. Thus, efficiency is greatly improved.
